The Italian Superior Council of Public Works enounced in January 2019 the Guidelines for the identification, qualification and acceptance control of fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composites (FRCM) to be used for the structural consolidation of existing buildings.
This standard provides environmental durability tests on FRCM specimens, including: aging tests, behaviour to thermal stresses, cycling freezing and thawing tests.

Each cycle consists of at least 4 hours at -18° C, followed by 12 hours in a humid chamber, with relative humidity of not less than 90% and a temperature of 38° C.
